Ever finish a row of loops… and wonder why they don’t quite match?
Some look nicely rounded. Others feel stretched. And then there are those that turn into little teardrops before you even realize it’s happening.
So you practice. And practice.
And… they still look inconsistent.
At some point, it’s easy to start wondering if this is just one of those things you’re not naturally good at.
But here’s what I want you to know.
This isn’t about talent. And it’s not about needing more repetitions.
What’s holding you stuck at wonky are two very specific things. Once you see them clearly, you can start correcting them — and the difference shows up immediately.
Inside this workshop, you’ll learn what’s actually causing the problem — and how to fix it.
In Round Loops, Not Wonky Circles, we’re going to focus on two pieces that control how your loops look: your speed, and your shape.
When those two are working together, loops start to feel smoother, more even, and much more intentional. Not perfect — but noticeably more consistent.
Let me show you what I mean.
First, we’ll look at what’s going wrong
A lot of loop inconsistency comes from speed changes that we don’t even realize we’re making.
This is something I see across a lot of different quilting designs — it’s not just loops — but loops are one of the easiest places to spot it.
We’ll also look at shape, specifically what happens when you exit a loop.
Once you see the difference side by side, it becomes much easier to recognize what’s happening in your own quilting.
Then we’ll work on correcting it — step by step
Rather than jumping straight to the machine, we’ll use a simple tactile exercise to help you get the "feel" of correctly made loops.
One of the things I focus on a lot in my teaching is working on one variable at a time. Not trying to fix everything at once… because that’s where you actually start to see improvement, and you'll be able to take that same awareness to your machine.
Lastly, we'll talk about speed - with AND without a stitch regulator, giving you options.
And then we'll loop at loops in real quilts
Because this isn’t just theory - it's practical.
Loops show up inside real quilting designs all the time. When they’re consistent, they create beautiful texture. When they’re not… they can feel distracting.
I’ll show you a couple of designs so you can see how the loop (or circle) shape is foundational - and talk about ways you can practice while doing actual projects.
What you’ll likely notice
When you start paying attention to these two factors, things improve - often instantly.
Even curves. Consistent size. Every machine quilter's dream 😁
Why Learn from Me?
I’ve quilted over 1,500 client quilts, which has, frankly, given me time to make almost every mistake at least once.
One of the biggest was thinking that more repetition was the best way to learn.
There's a better way: practicing deliberately, focusing on one thing at a time.
Let's do it!
