LIFETIME ACCESS

Give me 60 minutes and I'll level up your longarming results.

If your quilt “smiles,” “frowns,” or flares at the edges, it’s not your fault — it’s your process. Join me in this workshop and I’ll show you how to lock in flat + square results.

Looking for high-quality results? Every time?

Inside Flat and Square, you’ll learn:

  • How to assess your quilt, and what are the most common issues to look for
  • The importance of loading your quilt, and the extra measures you can take to ensure that it will keep its shape
  • How to properly advance a quilt--it's not just as easy as rolling up to the next section of the quilt!

  • I'll share some of my favorite tools that help me keep all the layers of the quilt flat and square!

You’ll walk away with more confidence, flatter finishes, and beautifully square projects.

PLUS you'll receive a bonus ebook, "Achieving a Flat and Square Quilt:  A How-to Guide."  It's a printable resource of tips for you to refer to as often as you need.

What's got you frustrated?

Any of these resonate?

  • burning question #1

Why does it seem - no matter how careful I am, and how straight I begin - my quilts often turn out wonky?

  • burning question #2

My quilt is an hourglass - slim in the middle. Do I just cut it square?

  • burning question #3

What about if one side is shorter than the other? How're ya going to fix THAT?

I’m Susan Smith - quilter, teacher, and host of quilting's first reality show, "Live & Unscripted".

In the past decade, I’ve machine quilted over 1,500 quilts and taught thousands of students how to create beautiful quilted texture with confidence. My teaching style is super practical - no fluff, no filler - just clear, real-world guidance you can actually use.

I’ve seen just about every quilt wonkiness you can imagine. Wavy borders...tight borders...hourglass shape...heavy duty easing...you get the picture. And over time I've learned effective ways to deal with those challenges AS I QUILT, consistently producing finished quilts that lay and hang beautifully flat.

If you’ve ever stared at your machine thinking, “HOW am I gonna turn that frown up-side down?"—this workshop is your practical guide.

What students are saying:

  • Kathy B

I had a longarm for 10 years and was so scared I was going to do it wrong or not the right pattern. Your teaching has gotten me over this fear and I feel so confident. I am just binding my 3rd quilt.

  • Sandy B

I was a teacher for 40 years and your teaching style, voice, and explanations are absolutely amazing. (You may have missed your other calling!) I have loved every minute of these classes - definitely money well spent!

  • Jan

I have to say, Susan, your videos/lessons are the best I've ever watched. As a fairly new longarm operator, your attention to detail is most helpful. I look forward to each new posting of your work!
