During this interactive workshop, you'll:

  2. Recognize which projects are perfect for building confidence, which ones invite you to practice a new style of quilting, and which ones are worth saving until you've gained more experience.

  3. Stop choosing projects based on guilt, convenience, or indecision.

  4. Build a personalized sequence of quilts that balances confidence-building, technical challenges, experimentation, and pure enjoyment.

  5. Understand why each quilt belongs where it does in your own quilting journey.

  6. Leave with a completed plan you can return to every time you finish another quilt.

This is a working session - for you!

Bring 3 to 10 unfinished quilt tops (or a written list with a brief description of each).

The workshop is super practical. I'll first give you some criteria and examples, then you'll evaluate your own quilt tops, and identify the learning opportunities in each one.

We'll repeat that a couple of times, and finally organize them into a sequence that reflects where you are today and where you'd like your quilting to go.

PLUS - we'll build a simple journal (think 50-cent school composition notebook) where you can jot your thoughts about each quilt today....and in the quilting days to come.

The goal isn't to work through your backlog faster—it's to become more intentional about the skills and confidence you build with every quilt.

  • Do I need to be skilled at free motion quilting before taking this workshop?

    No. This workshop isn't about specific quilting techniques—it's about learning how to choose the right project for where you are in your quilting journey. Whether you're just beginning to free motion quilt or you've been quilting for years, you'll leave with a personalized plan that helps you make thoughtful decisions about what to quilt next.

    It's for ALL quilters! Even if you don't do the quilting yourself, you'll find MANY ideas and tips for your quilt backing.

  • Can I watch this on my own time? Or only a specific time?

    It will only be held LIVE at the specified time, but the replay will automatically be available for every enrollee.
